Palliative Care Research

The Palliative Care Research Group focuses on the implementation and testing of new drugs and symptom relief methods, which in turn is aimed at improving clinical practice, reducing patient and family suffering and improving overall quality of life.

The Group’s central focus is the care of patients facing advanced cancer and other life limiting illnesses. Our group is designed to improve symptom control through a holistic approach, focusing on alleviating pain, general wellbeing, reducing physical symptoms and improving mood.

We aim to provide new outcomes to help measure and manage symptoms experienced by patients facing life-limiting illness and disease. Our goal is to continue relevant research and data collection, which can ultimately be translated into improving clinical practice, therapeutic effectiveness, safety, and comfort for all palliative care patients.
