Mater researcher and Director of the Stillbirth Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) Professor Vicki Flenady has been awarded $1.3 million through Federal Government funding.

A $40,000 grant has been awarded to the Mater Research Institute—University of Queensland (MRI-UQ) to develop a parent-version of the national clinical guidelines on care around stillbirth.

Professor Vicki Flenady and her team at the Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence (CRE) were awarded the UQ Faculty of Medicine Collaborators of the Year Award.

Forty two babies are stillborn in Australia every week, and 60 per cent of them are recorded as “unexplained”.
