Placental Growth Factor levels at birth study

Project type/s Longitudinal (time-series) study
Project status Currently underway

Placental Growth Factor (PlGF) is an endothelial growth factor predominantly expressed by the placenta, and its levels are lower in pregnant women that develop early onset pre-eclampsia and/or fetal growth restriction. There are however no data relating to PlGF and intrapartum compromise at term. The aim of this prospective observational study is to compare maternal PlGF in women at term according to their mode of birth and to develop reference ranges for each cohort.
